I think the numbers will be close and look something like this after the voting tally is all over:

Christopher Shays: 47,573

Linda McMahon:     47,207

I would give even odds on either pulling off a victory.

I figure there will be around  94,780 votes cast, and should be with-in 2000 votes for either candidate.

The final percentage should be with-in  2.61%,  less then 3 % either way.
