Roraback’s Qualifications Shines Through in Newtown Debate
State Senator Andrew Roraback tonight again demonstrated why he is the candidate best equipped to win the Republican primary on August 14th and to triumph for the Republican party come November. Roraback faced off against his three opponents in a lively debate hosted by the Newtown Republican Town Committee on Thursday evening.
Throughout the debate, Roraback’s position as the strongest candidate was repeatedly validated as he responded with authority and even handedly to furtive attacks from all of his opponents directed at his lengthy record of legislative service. None of the other candidates in this race have any record as elected officials and therefore they are immunized from being subjected to similar critique.
Roraback again shared his proven record of leading Republican opposition to Governor Malloy and legislative Democrats as they imposed the largest tax increase in Connecticut history and have engaged in repeated reckless borrowing for projects including the bus way from New Britain to Hartford. He also shared his vision for America’s future and his commitment to be a constructive force for fiscal responsibility as our nation faces unprecedented challenges.
