It’s so outrageous that it’s hard to believe: Illegal aliens receive $4.2 billion in tax credits each year for "dependent" children, even when they have paid no taxes. The IRS pays $1,000 per child, even if the child is not related and even if the child does not live in this country.

This is the following fax I sent U.S. Sen. Blumenthal and U.S. Sen. Lieberman,

Dear Sen. Blumenthal and Sen. Lieberman,

It is ridiculous that illegal aliens are allowed to commit billions of dollars of tax fraud by taking advantage of the Child Tax Care credit. Please follow the House’s lead by closing this loophole. You can do so by passing Senator Vitter’s S. 577.

I cannot understand why illegal aliens are able to claim upwards of 20 children — many who have never been to America, or do not even exist — and receive thousands of dollars from the IRS by taking advantage of tax credits! What is going on?

Illegal aliens already take advantage of taxpayer-funded services such as education, health care and other public services. The last thing we need to do is dish out thousands of dollars in tax credits. I was so shocked to see how easy it was for illegal aliens to cheat the system, and it’s time for Congress to do something about it!
