Hartford, CT. March 15, 2012. – In a statement released from his campaign, U.S. Senate candidate Brian K. Hill termed opponent Linda McMahon’s plan to simply cut taxes on business and the middle class
“naïve, antiquated and failed.”
“This plan was proposed and instituted by both President Bush and President Obama in the last decade. All it’s done is raise the deficit by $9 trillion and ruin the day to day life of American citizens.” Hill said.
“I have proposed a bold solution to this country’s economic woes. My
plan. Cutting taxes alone, with no plan to offset those revenues with cuts in expenditure is irresponsible. How do you think we got in this mess?” Hill went on.
plan for economic recovery involves Reducing the size of government, first by consolidating duplicate government functions, Reforming entitlement programs by ensuring they promote independence as opposed to dependence, and Restructuring the tax code to make it simple, fair, and transparent.
“The idea that simply cutting marginal rates in a tax system that is broken internally is ludicrous. More of the same gets you more of the same.” Hill said. “What we need to do is change the tax system so it can’t be used by Washington insiders to reward their supporters and punish its opponents. Everyone simply needs to pay their fair share. We need to ‘take the ax out of tax”!
